Debrah Garcia

Long Island Head Start is proud to announce the appointment of Debrah Garcia as Chief Executive Officer of the Agency, Effective December 14, 2005. Prior to this Ms. Garcia served as the Director of Quality Assurance and Program Services.

As CEO, Ms. Garcia will plan, direct, supervise, coordinate, and assess all aspects of the Head Start and Early Head Start programs, affecting more than 1600 children and families. In her 23 years of service with Long Island Head Start, Ms. Garcia has garnered numerous awards, ranging from Outstanding Performance as an Educator to Outstanding Longevity Service. She holds three college degrees in the field of education, including a Master’s degree in Special Education from Long Island University. Ms. Garcia also holds New York State dual certification in Elementary and Special Education.

“My vision is to move this agency forward to become the highest quality child care and family services organization on Long Island,” said CEO Garcia, who resides in Suffolk County, NY with her husband, Antonio and two sons, Armando and Anthony.
